A Japanese Hirado-ware water dropper used in calligraphy dating to the Edo Period, circa 1830s. The whimsical, molded design features an array of sea creatures and shells on a base of crashing waves. Crafted from Hirado clay, covered in celadon glaze and blue and iron enamel glazes. Minor losses.
