Victorian Micro-Mosaic and 18k French Gold Ring

A wonderful Victorian, Grand Tour micro-mosaic oval plaque crafted in Italy and set in 18k yellow gold ring by an unknown French maker. The micro-mosaic work is very fine and depicts Roman ruins. Most likely, this piece was purchased in the mid-19th century by a French traveler to Italy and then upon returning home had the piece mounted by a local jeweller. he ring is marked with the French eagle gold purity mark as well as an unidentified maker's mark. A truly unique piece of jewellery for a man or a woman. 

Marked - French Eagle mark for 18k gold purity, unidentified makers mark reading 'PC'.
